Technology is changing the way we live and work; and preparing our young people for a world we can’t yet imagine is a challenge for every community.
The Urban Digital Futures programme is designed to give both students AND teachers with access to training and experiences to support digital skills development in over 30 schools across Belfast and Derry-Londonderry.
Participating schools have received:
- Access to over 12hrs of online professional development resources for staff.
- Free on-site and group professional development workshops and on-going support
- Industry engagement both at your school and through work placements
- Opportunities for students to engage with employers in our key growth sectors, and undertake exciting digital media projects
Throughout the programme, young people at both primary and post-primary level have developed their own digital media projects. Over 400 primary school students showcased their work at a Showcase event in Belfast on June 15th.
A similar showcase event for post-primary students will take place in October 2018.
